ghostwriting

book doctoring

Start to First Draft Delivery: 4-6 months

  1. We discuss your goals and needs to see if we're a good fit. This is a long-term, strategic relationship; trust and chemistry are important.
  2. Assuming we're both all in, we do the paperwork to make it official.
  3. We brainstorm ideas, and I put together an outline.
  4. We discuss the outline and tweak as necessary until you're happy.
  5. I put together a list of questions and discussion topics based on our conversations.
  6. We spend a few days talking about your project in a series of recorded interviews, which can be in person or over the phone.
  7. I have the recordings transcribed and get to work writing a first draft. I use additional research and fill in gaps with my interpretation of your vision.
  8. You review the draft (and perhaps your literary agent or acquisition editor too) and make revision requests.
  9. I revise the manuscript until it's just right.

If we're also doing a book proposal, we will work on that throughout this process.

As your strategic partner, I'll stay actively engaged through the pitching and publishing phases and beyond your book launch to help you and your book get into the hands, hearts, and minds of readers.
